The most versatile avalanche probe in the Black Diamond QuickDraw range, the Super Tour 265 is a favourite in the world of the backcountry.
This probe is made from strong aluminium, allowing it to pierce through hard compacted or frozen snow, yet remaining lightweight - and by dividing the long length into seven sections it still fits neatly into your pack.
The QuickDraw system has the best length-to-weight ratio of any probe available. The cable and locking mechanism are housed internally so there are no buttons to accidentally collapse the probe, allowing even the top section to be used.
The oversized tubing that accomodates the QuickDraw system results in a stiffer, straighter probe without added weight. The Super Tour 265 features easy to read markings every 5 centimetres allowing for fast and accurate depth readings.
The long length of the Super Tour 265 makes it suitable for a variety of conditions and the perfect tool for snow-pit and stability evaluation.
The QuickDraw is a rapid deployment system for super fast set up - time is paramount in an avalanche situation. As long as your probe is packed into its handy stuff sack correctly, the Super Tour 265 is ready to go in just one pull. Black Diamond do recommend that you practice using your probe prior to heading into the backcountry - if you are familiar with the design of the system it can greatly improve that critical reaction time in an emergency (see below).
Black Diamond probes feature a sandpaper like grip, which is extra effective in keeping the probe in your hands so you won't loose it in difficult conditions. It may damage your gloves a bit, but if you're using your probe your gloves will probably be the last thing you care about!

QuickDraw Assembly
For safe use of your equipment please read ALL instructions thoroughly.
1. Remove the probe from the bag by grabbing the exposed loop and quickly pulling the probe free of the bag.
2. Hold the first section of the probe, which is a different colour to the rest of the sections making it easily identifiable, and pull the loop handle tight to fully assemble the probe.
3. When all sections of the probe are fully engaged, the barrel lock will click into place to create a solid probe. Snap the cable clip onto the shaft of the probe to secure the free end of the cable.
Packing Your Probe
In order for the QuickDraw system to work to the best of it's ability fold the probe starting with the tip and working towards the handle. Insert into the bag with the pull loop out. Fold the top flap of the bag through the loop and seal.
