Black Diamond's snow shovel line is designed for speed of deployment. No other snow shovel on the market allows you to react as quickly in an emergency as the Deploy shovel series.
The Deploy 3 is tough, small and light, happily fitting into almost any pack and not weighing you down. This is a shovel built for first responders, ideal for alpine climbing and backcountry tours.
The aluminium handle collapses into the shovel blade to create an entirely self-contained package, so you're not going to lose that vital part in your pack when faced with an emergency situation. Though, if you need to, the handle can be fully detatched for cleaning.
The non-rotating handle has a trapezoidal design, rather than round, so can be deployed instantaneously without having to worry about getting the right bit in the right place - hence the name. A foolproof mechanism - just press the spring-pin, pull the handle and it slides into place, locked and ready to load. The Deploy is unlikely to freeze up on you when you're in a hurry! (See below for detailed instructions)
The strong, durable aluminium blade cuts through hard, consolidated snow and ice with ease, whilst the unique "T &D" grip helps you to shift it without burning extra energy. The Deploy also saves energy with its ergonomical, curved handle, shaped to help your muscles work, and its sturdy locking system, preventing energy loss through unwanted movement of the blade.
As the Deploy 3 comes in a smaller size than it's big brother, this is the shovel to chose if you will be digging snow pits or building caves that require smooth walls and need that extra attention to detail.
A shovel that aids you to dig harder and faster and feel stronger while you're at it!
