The Cougar avalanche shovel from Ortovox is lightweight, but incredibly sharp and stable.
The
telescoping shaft means the Cougar fits in almost any pack, the
anti-slip grip is useful when you have to move hard or heavy snow and the
ergonomically designed handle makes this shovel is easy to use and
suitable for right and left handers.
The Cougar features a lightweight blade, made from
unbreakable, torsion-free Lexan, which gives the shovel high impact strength at low temperatures. The red blade is transparent so it looks really cool too.
The ultra sharp blade also doubles up as an
axe or
hoe, cutting through even the toughest snow with minimal effort. The
unique pivot also allows the shovel to be used for
snow study.
