BCA DTS Tracker
The durable and reliable BCA DTS Tracker is the most user-friendly beacon on the market. In 1997, the Tracker DTS revolutionised the transceiver market by introducing a Digital, Dual Antennae Technology. Since then, it has become the world's best-selling transceiver as well as the world’s most widely used transceiver.
Display (Interface) :
The BCA Tracker has a very simple search interface with LED distance readout and five LED direction indicators, along with a button for special mode which narrows the search angle.
Intuitive blinking lights indicate the direction and the DTS senses changes in direction quickly. If you go off-course by a few degrees, the lights promptly indicate the new direction.
Multiple Burial :
The tracker DTS has a special mode button that narrows the reception “arc” to 70° in front and behind you. The concept is that after locating the first transceiver you can press the “special mode” button to narrow the arc and only search for signals in front and behind the transceiver.
Although the BCA DTS Tracker is very simple the special mode definitely requires practice. Your time will be better spent mastering the generic multiple burial search techniques rather than learning how to use the conceptually special mode.
Audio Visual :
Once a signal is detected, five bright LEDs indicate in what direction to move, and how far away, in meters, along a curved flux line you are.
The Tracker will beep in time with the signal it is receiving (although not in real time due to digital processing delays) when you are more than 15m away. As you get closer the number of deeps per cycle will increase, until, when you are less than two meters away the train of beeps will begin to run together and rise in a pitched sound.
