The Pieps Rider 10 Jetforce Airbag the smallest bag from the Pieps Jetforce range. This avalanche airbag uses the Jetforce System which works entirely with rechargeable batteries. After the airbag is filled, it's regularly re-filled to prevent deflation if there are any small tears in the material.
It's activated via a release button which also shows the battery status when switched on. It can be released four times per battery charge, so you have a chance to test it before taking your trip.
Weighing only 3300g and made of exceptionally lightweight 315d Cordura® airbag-fiber technology, which offers exceptional strength and durability, this bag is ideal for off-piste skiers looking to minimise extra weight.
Avalanche Bag Rider 10 (Yellow)
Intergrated Airbag System with Jetforce Technology
For one day tours of back country and off piste this Pieps Rider 10 Jetforce Airbag is ideal, enough space for shovel, probe and transceiver and daypack. Also ideal size for heli and cat skiing, the Pieps Rider 10 Jetforce Airbag carries just the essentials but brings along the added benefit of JetForce Technology.
When wearing your Pieps 10 Jetforce Airbag make sure all straps are securely fastened and the system successfully is armed; the LED will be showing a pulsing green light. The airbag can now be deployed.
Grasp the Deployment Handle and firmly pull downwards to open the Release Flap that covers the airbag and turn the fan on.
The airbag will begin to Deploy Immediately. The fan will run at Full Power For 9 Seconds, followed by lower speed operation and Short Refilling Bursts for 3 minutes.
The airbag will deflate after 3 minutes and then auto-matically switch back to armed mode.
To interrupt the inflation/deflation process after the initial 9 second deployment period and return to armed mode, Press and hold the red Power button for approximately 5 seconds.
The Pieps Rider 10 also features a Dedicated avy tools pocket to carry your probe and shovel

A revolution in airbag technology, JetForce provides an added margin of safety to your avalanche tool kit.
The Jetforce is the first Avalanche Safety technology to use jet-fan inflation. This is a state-of-the-art system that draws air from the unlimited source of the atmosphere.
The Jetforce avalanche airbag system is dramatically improved for ease of use and performance over traditional compressed gas cylinder systems.
Battery-Powered jet-fan inflates the Airbag in 3.5 seconds, and then the 200L Airbag automatically deflates after 3 minutes to create a air pocket to aid in extraction.
Jetforce’s repackable airbag and fully rechargeable electronics system provide zero-cost user practice and travel-friendly performance.
The Jetforce is built into the backpack and is not interchangeable like the ABS System
Easy air travel, little to no restrictions on the batteries as they’re no different than laptop batteries.
As many practice deployments as you desire, battery good for 1 to 6 full inflations depending on temperature and age, battery is rechargeable.
No hassle with canisters.
Slightly lighter in weight than compressed gas offerings.
Automatic deflation cycle can possibly create airspace around head in the event of burial.
Specific to Black Diamond & Pieps design, airbag stuff-stows loosely after use, pack it in minutes with no folding necessary.
Fan is set to cycle on periodically during 3 minute inflation period per CE standards, this can overcome up to 7 inch tear in the fabric.
Fan timing is controlled by the electronics, here is how it cycles:
0-9 seconds - Mandatory Fill: During the first 3.5 seconds, the airbag fills 100%. For the next 5.5 seconds, the system continues to run at full speed for safety redundancy.
10-60 seconds - Active Performance: The system pulses between full speed and 50% speed. Since this is the most likely time to be carried by the avalanche, it is most critical to maintain full volume and recover from any possible tears.
61-180 seconds - Volume Maintenance: The system has 20s stand-by intervals between 3s full speed refilling pulses. The goal is to maintain the volume to aide in visibility and meet CE timing requirements.
181 seconds - Active Deflation: After 3 total minutes, the bag will automatically deflate. If partially or completely buried, this has the potential to create a large volume of air for breathing and/or extraction. If unburied, this simply helps repack the airbag quicker.
JET-FAN: Battery-Powered jet-fan that inflates in 3.5 Seconds, Followed by tear recovery bursts
Larger Airbag : 200L airbag constructed with high-tenacity, puncture resistant automotive airbag material
Multiple Deployments : Travel-friendly, compact lithium-ion battery supports 4+ deployments per charge.
Deflation : 200L Airbag automatically deflates after 3 minutes to create a air pocket and aid in extraction.
Auto Self-Diagnosis : LED lights indicate system status. Pieps electronics perform (good-to-go) system check on every start up.
Practise : Airbag is easy to repack for multiple deployments or practice
reACTIV suspension with SwingArm™ shoulder straps and zippered backpanel access
Dedicated avy-tools pocket and single ice axe attachment
Tuck-away diagonal ski carry allows airbag to deploy while skis are attached
HiLo helmet holder, hipbelt stash pocket and internal accessory pockets
