Avalanche Transceiver Firmware, How to update your Beacon?🤳🆙

Avalanche Transceiver Firmware has evolved over the years with many brands offering different features, although all transceivers work on the same 457 kHz frequency, each brand focus on there own transceiver firmware and software which can be updatable via app, pc or manually.

How do I update my Trackers via the Tracker Software Updater?

Download the Software Updater – You will need to use a USB Mini cord for all T3 software updates (and a USB C-Type cord for all future Tracker 4 updates.) The USB port is located inside the battery box of your Tracker transceiver.

• Once installed, connect the Tracker to your computer with a standard USB cable (Mini USB for Tracker3+ and USB C for Tracker4).
• Open the Tracker Utility and follow the instructions on the screen.

Follow the prompts closely while performing any software updates. If, for some reason, your Tracker Software Updater times out, the USB cord becomes unplugged, or your computer shuts down during this process, restart the program from the beginning and continue to follow the prompts.

Ortovox 

How do I update my Ortovox Transceiver?

The Ortovox 3+ & S1+ can be updated via any Ortovox Brand dealer, we can also update this for you.

The new Diract & Diract Voice is updatable via the new Ortovox App Launching in winter 2021.

If you an older model of the Barryvox with old software then the device will work as it should but will not have the latest features.

Software updates can also now be done Barryvox to Barryvox and Barryvox S to Barryvox S (you can not mix the devices). This allows you to do an update anywhere. 

How to perform the Device-to-Device Update:

Barryvox® S

1. Power off both devices.
2. Switch on the device with the most recent firmware. Under “Setting,” select the “Device-to-Device Update” function and press the main button on the front to confirm.
3. Then follow the instructions on the display.

Barryvox®

1. Power off both devices.
2. On the device with the most recent firmware, press and hold the main button on the front while at the same time shifting the main switch from OFF to SEND. Hold the main button down until “UP” appears on the display.
3. The device is now ready for transfer. (Press the main button if no update is to be carried out)
4. On the device to be updated, press and hold the main button while at the same time shifting the main switch from OFF to SEND. Release the main button after 2 seconds.
5. Installation of the firmware on the device will start and the progress will be shown on the top left of the display.
