This is what the future of free riding looks like: Two different freeriding bags can be zipped onto the respective back length of the new LiTRIC airbag base, which has been specially designed for backcountry skiing. The compact variant with lift support for a single day in the mountains or more volume for long days in the backcountry.

The Fit:

It's body-hugging shape with a snug-fit Comfort Back Systemoffer great comfort and freedom of movement.

Features such as ski, snowboard and ice axe fastenings as well as a helmet holder and quick access to the main compartment leave nothing to be desired.

The AVABAG LiTRIC freeride backpacks convertible companions with just a single base: From a large zipper module for multi-day tours to a small, compact stowaway bag when the powder alarm sounds.

Thanks to CLASP back technology – the wide, flexible hip belt and soft shoulder straps, the versatile, lightweight Freeride Base sits extremely securely while allowing complete freedom of movement. It is compatible with the CLASP back protector.

This pack has a 16 Litre capacity which provides plenty of room for stowing your essentials such as a cushioned google case, shovel, probe and hydration system.
A Dedicated Avalanche Safety Compartment has been added to the front of the pack for quick access to your Avalanche shovel and probe in an emergency. We recommend combing this Free Ride with the lightweight Ortovox Diract Set which includes the Ortovox Diract, Badger Shovel and 240 Alu Probe.
Access to the main compartment via the Front - this has been integrated into the Ortovox Freeride 16 S so you can access all your safety equipment as quick as possible.
The standard for Ortovox, an Emergency Card has been added to the features so when an avalanche occurs it makes it easy to extract information of the victim.
Ortovox has integrated Bright Colours into the Freeride 16 S to make searching for your emergency equipment easier.

Flexible carrying Fasteners allow you to Carry Snowboard or Snowshoes on the front of your bag.
D-skifix offers plenty of wear comfort.
Wide and comfortable Wide Hip belts offer an optimal body-hugging fit, even when in motion.
A safety whistle is attached to the chest straps to draw attention in the case of an avalanche.
Ice axe's or hiking poles can be attached to the front of your bag allowing more room to stow extra kit inside your bag.

To determine your back length, use a tape measure to measure yourself from the top of your hip bone to the very top of your back just before the neck.

Easy Testing and No Travel Limitations - The electric system can be fully charged via USB-C in approx. 25 minutes and activation can be tested any number of times at no additional cost. The lack of a cartridge means: more room, no weighing necessary, no cartridge disposal, no travel limitations.

The base is also compatible with the touring zip-ons.

Safety compartment: Access to the compartment is marked with the red zipper pullers. Probe and shaft receiver are marked with icons. Place the shovel blade with the sharp edge up.
Electric LED Display Airbag system: The Charge Level of the airbag and on/off display can be clearly seen even in glaring daylight.
Deployment Handle: The handle can be quickly and easily secured by turning it 180 degrees. Height adjustable handle.
Compatible with CLASP back protector
Chest strap with a signal whistle: Quickly draw attention in emergency situations.
Water-resistant zipper: Repelling moisture for secure and dry contents.
Bright inside: Light Colours inside make it easier to find your avalanche safety equipment.
Ice Axe Attachment: Place the pick of the axe into the icon compartment and fix it by closing the straps. Then attach the shaft by using the elastic cords, hidden in the two small compartments near the foremost zipper.
D-Skifix: A fast and safe diagonal ski fastener that offers plenty of wear comfort.
Snowboard and Snowshoe attachment: Connect the lower straps with the metal nose and the small lop above the icon compartment. The upper part can be found in the compartment above the left shoulder strap. Disconnect the metal half-moon and feed it through the loop by the right shoulder strap. Fit the board / Snowshoes and close the buckle.
Access to main compartment (Front): Quick access to emergency equipment / Accessories through the Front.
